A Scooby-Doo Outrage

Netflix's new live action TV show 'Scooby Doo' sparked outrage online as it debuted it's first look of the cast in a still photo of the actors posing as the well loved scooby gang peering round a door, without Scooby in the frame.

In 2024 plans for a new live action tv show of Scooby Doo got put in motion, however since the debut of the 'Velma' series in 2023 produced by 'HBO Max', many were very sceptical on whether they would want another Scooby Doo series only for it to fail as much as the Velma series did. But despite this, Netflix were still eager to push forward with their plans.

Since the announcement of the cast, many people online have been voicing their concerns as to why the cast isn't diverse enough, why Scooby Doo isn't in the photo with the cast members, with many others stating that "They will never be them" referring to the original cast of the Scooby-Doo films scripted by James Gunn and with a less diverse cast, it raises fears that possibly it might well and truly flop as much as Velma did, a Scooby-less series is certainly not what the fans want.

What is the new Scooby Doo series about?

Scooby-Doo Origins, the working title Netflix have chose, stands as a prequel series to Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated or other wise known simply as, Scooby Doo and Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. It is not yet officially announced on whether Scooby-Doo will even appear in the series, however many do hope he is, and many theorising on whether Scooby-Doo will appear in the first episode as a puppy for sale, or if he will appear in a finale episode.

According to the Synopsis by Netflix, the series is expected to take place in a camp during their late-teen years during the summer. It said that Daphne and Shaggy are already friends, while Fred and Velma tag along with them during a supernatural event, that takes them on a mystery to solve.

There is no current release date as of yet, but Netflix wish to release in 2027.
